About Me

Biography

Brigid Sax is a sophomore from Riva, MD studying Information Science at the University of Maryland. Her interests include singing, acting, creating music, and writing. Her goal in creating music, specifically in writing songs, is to understand how music affects all art including movies, advertisements, and dance among other things. Though she follows the style of many modern musicians, she hopes to create themes in her music that reflect different time periods and different indescribable human emotions. After graduating with a bachelor's degree in Information Science, she plans to work in cybersecurity or data organization for a company related to the arts where she is able to utilize both her arts skills and STEM skills.

As a College Park Arts Scholar, Brigid intends to explore her research interests through her culminating Capstone project to be completed in her sophomore year. She is excited to learn about other forms of art from guest artists that may widen her range of capability. She also looks forward to attending Pentathlon events to explore the arts within her beloved community of College Park, MD. As part of her university experience, she is involved with the Arts Scholars Peer Mentors program where she hopes to aid younger students in finding their home in the arts community at University of Maryland. Her academic goals include completing a senior capstone that demonstrates mastery in Information Science and graduating prepared to enter the workforce.
